Monk in deep meditation

The monk is in the deep state of meditation under the bodhi tree, protected by an anti-mosquito tent.

Last year i visited India, and of course Bodhgaya. Such a blissful place, made some prostrations, circumambulations, took many photos and offered fruits and flowers to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas and all sentient beings in Mahabodhi temple.

So far away from home i was but yet I felt at home and when came back to Ljubljana i felt homesick and still do. I lost my heart in Ladakh so now I am wondering around heartless and longing to meet my heart again soon.

If you ever visit Ladakh, be there for annual Oracle Nagrang festival at Mangtro Monastery, held on the 14th and 15th days of the first month of the Tibetan calendar and see the Cham dance with Oracles, two wrathful protectors. For someone who just hear or watch the video doesn’t mean much but when you are there, you can actually see that oracles are indeed there, embodied in two monks, who were previously been in deep meditation for several months to prepare themselves for this event to preform the dance in Chams.

It is so auspicious.

Here on video you can see them on the left with ropes over the heads. So when they were ready to come, none of us was allowed to take any photos or videos. Of course there were couple of people filming in secret but Oracles knew where exactly they are so they turned and pointed a finger into them and guardians ran towards them right away.

The heart pumps blood all by itself without you doing it.
The lungs breathe air all by themselves without you doing it.
The brain associates concepts with other concepts all by itself.

The mind is thinking (randomly babbling) completely on its own.

Let’s look inside for just a brief minute…
How long can you keep the mind completely silent?
If you try to stop thinking, it just starts right back up again.
Words, verbalization, thoughts, thinking, and emotionalism are completely automatic.
You can’t stop it by controlling it, but you can (eventually) stop it by non judgmentally watching it.
The brain works completely by itself.
It has nothing to do with “you” doing it.
This means that you are not the doer of deeds, nor the thinker of thoughts.
The mind/body is an “it”, not a “me”.

The brain’s thoughts and body’s actions are just the result of cells doing work.

We are not the physical body/mind and its senses.
We are not the mind and its automatic rambling thoughts.

We are the still, conceptless, silent Awareness that is aware of them.
We are the Awareness that is watching the body/mind’s automatic functioning.
We are the Silent Formless Observer.
We are the Life/Consciousness/Awareness that is simply aware of Itself as existing.

We have mistakenly identified ourselves as being the physical mind/body.
We have mistakenly identified ourselves with form.
It was an erroneous belief all along.

The real “you”, the Silent Aware Mind, is not confined to a brain, or anything else.
It’s Infinitely Everything beyond physicality.
It’s the (formless) Allness of Existence.
It’s No-Thing, yet Infinitely Everything.

But thinking about that won’t help you realize/experience that.
You have to stop identifying with thoughts altogether to realize that.
